After I decide to share and put Network monitor in download section I feel obligation to describe what u can do with it, at least some basic function and possibilities for user which haven’’t experience with net monitor and maybe feel little confused and scary after run it
This short Net Monitor guide is based on many different materials available all around the net and of course based on my personal experience in working with FTD trough many years since first activated net monitor menu on old 6110.
However keep in mind that I’m not some kind of network expert and I don’t represent any of phones Manufacture Company or wireless network, this is poor one man show ;)
In conclusion this is just overview of some interesting and important features selected by me, I give my best to make this guide but some errors and mistakes are possible because all mentioned things.
All additional info u can find in official Charlie FTD guide (very hard to understand for non network experts/professionals) and of course on our forum where is located huge discussion with FTD thematic…
As I already said in news section, Net monitor is nokia engineering menu known from older monochrome nokia’’s time (5110, 3210, etc) there is some different in comparison with this one (UMTS functions extends, GPRS counters, etc) but all basic functions is the same.
There are no standards, on older monocrome nokia’’s (DCT3) Net Monitor is built in but hidden and can be activated trough additional soft, on DCT4 nokia’’s its come only with special engineering version of firmware which has built in Net monitor menu, however on Symbian OS phones Net Monitor is a just 3rd party , it can be installed like any other application, after installation and running it shows different information, information’s like is usually hidden network parameters, phone status, errors, etc.
